Sunday lunch

Sunday lunchtime we visited one of my favourite pubs The Maenllwyd Inn

They are always very accommodating for babies, pushchairs and dogs (when we have one visiting to take for lunch). As it was Sunday we all had roasts - the menu caters for meaties (Daddy), veggies (Mammy) and littlies (Beastie).

The food was nice as always and more importantly my gin and tonic came in a MASSIVE glass. There was a lack of broccoli though, which disappointed as Daddy and Beastie are huge fans, but the yorkshire pudding seemed to make up for it.

Normally we'd go for a walk nearby as it's lovely (and I'd take pretty pics) but the weather was horrible.

It's a great place for food with the family and you can book online to be sure of a table.  Don't forget to sign up to their mailing list - it really is a great source of offers. We got 50% off food on Sunday in an emailed promotion!

Books books books

We love books in our house and have been reading to beastie since before he was born.  Regular visits to the library top up our own ever growing collection.

This week we've particularly enjoyed I'll wait Mr Panda by Steve Antony and Usborne lift the flap What is poo?

I'll wait Mr Panda is a lovely minimalist story about good things that come when you wait.  Features the handsome Mr Panda (there are other books in the series about saying please and thank you) who we like to voice grumpily! Short and sweet.

What is poo? is, unsurprisingly, all about poo. Borrowed from the library by Daddy as a bit of a laugh it turned out to be really good. Beastie enjoys lifting flaps, I enjoy finding out new facts (blue whale poo is pink!) and Daddy likes saying poo a lot. In all seriousness this book would be great for a child about to leave nappies behind. I'll definitely pick up a copy when beastie is at that stage.

Beginnings

Beginnings are always hardest so I'm just going to dive in.

I'm Anna and I live and work (full time) in South Wales. I've got a husband and a one year old. And cats 🐈
